Why do I write?

Poetry is my true love. I first started writing poems and lyrics as a child in 1st grade. I have been musically inclined since before I could even speak. Over the years and during hard times, I found myself drawn to writing poetry again. I joined HubPages in 2008 and flourished under different profile names but have since then deleted those profiles and chose to keep just one.

Several traumatic experiences of losing loved ones in 2002  left me bitter and broken emotionally.  I tried to suppress my pain and pushed forward in life. Later on, I went to College where I became a Legal Secretary by day and continued my life long dream of being a writer by night. I started to write again as a cathartic way to heal the wounds deep within.

Today, I am now an author of three poetry books and a novel.  I am also working on my first book documenting various unsolved mysteries and murders within history.

I have made alot of friends on Hubpages and feel that as a community of writers it is imperrative that we build each other "UP" and not bring others "Down" emotionally.  I hope you take the time to read some of my hubs and give me your input. It would be most appreciated.

I have been through alot in my life and I have made many mistakes along the way. Some of my poetry is about these mistakes and others about love and hope that I once had as well.   I hope that my loyal fans and friends will follow me onto this profile and continue to support me in my writing endeavors.  - JJ
